Welcome to Panta Rei
PANTA REI, from the Greek (things flow), is the name chosen for our adventure as this was how the PANTA REI Project was born. A flow of ideas, events and people that from the moment the creator, Walter Daxer, decided to give life to this challenge, started coming together, giving shape to and making PANTA REI a reality.
Propelled by the winds that blow over the Atlantic Ocean, PANTA REI, plans to navigate all the latitudes until arriving at its destination, the Antarctic Peninsula. During the voyage of more than 7000 nautical miles we will pass through Tropical Climates in the Canary islands and the Brazilian Coast to the toughest and coldest climate of the Antarctic, sharing our adventure with people of very different customs in each port we stop at.

In this way we intend to discover how they see the problem of climate change from different points of view depending on the conditions and the situation that the people live in and then compare it to the traveller´s point of view.
The challenge of the unknown and the uncertainty of following the wind’s path is what motivates sailors to follow the horizon, to pass from believing to knowing through experience itself is our prize and we want to share it with the whole world so that we become aware that Climate Change is happening today and that we are all a part of it.
By navigating along the various latitudes, visiting different ports and living with people in different conditions and situations, we will be able to compare the degrees of environmental awareness and discover their points of view with regard to the Climate Change.
